Job summary

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering calculations and develop mechanical system designs per codes and project needs.
• Prepare and review construction documents, specs and drawings.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, engineers, architects and other disciplines.
• Assist in scope, budgeting, scheduling and manpower estimates.
• Review designs for accuracy, constructability, coordination, and QA.
• Provide technical leadership to designers and junior engineers.
• Mentor team members and support professional development.
• Communicate project requirements, designs, and progress to clients.
• Resolve technical challenges using engineering judgment and principles.

This individual should be comfortable working independently, exercising sound engineering judgment, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality projects on schedule and within budget.

The candidate should have experience leading design efforts, mentoring junior staff, coordinating with project managers and engineers, and communicating effectively with clients throughout all phases of a project.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Minimum of 8 years of relevant mechanical engineering experience.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical building systems, engineering principles, and applicable building codes.
• Proficiency in Revit, engineering modeling software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
