Job Title: Mechanical Engineer SR 1

Location: Cartersville, GA

Pay Range: $45.00/hr - $50.00/hr

Employment Type: Contract

Seniority Level: Mid-Senior level

Industry: Utilities

Job Responsibilities:

• Design mechanical systems for retrofit, environmental, and new generation projects.
• Lead mechanical design activities including pipe sizing, routing, material selection, pipe support design, valve selection, P&ID development, equipment layout, and hydraulic calculations.
• Develop datasheets for valves and equipment.
• Provide technical guidance to designers, develop project scopes, schedules, and budgets.
• Assist in checkout and startup of systems, making independent decisions when necessary.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• 10+ years of related experience and an accredited bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
• Professional engineer license preferred.
• Experience with design of power generation or heavy industrial facilities, including detailed piping and equipment design.
• Proficiency with applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Experience with P&ID development and review.
• Knowledge of process equipment, piping systems, valves, pumps, pressure vessels, and heat exchangers.
• Experience with hydraulic calculations and software like Pipe-Flo is preferred.
