Job summary

Troll Systems Corporation is seeking a Mechanical Engineer with strong 3D CAD (SolidWorks) experience to design and release new parts and assemblies. You will lead product development, manage documentation in version control, and collaborate with RF/electrical designers to meet customer requirements.

Qualifications include a BS in Mechanical Engineering and 3D CAD proficiency; experience with 3D CAD, wiring, RF, and thermal systems is desirable.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field and related experience or training.
  • Experienced 3D CAD designer (SolidWorks preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Design and release new parts.
  • Maintain documents in version control systems.
  • Lead new product developments.
  • Reduce backlog by better estimates and less rework.
  • Creation of System-level block diagrams.
  • Development of new electro-mechanical parts and assemblies including wiring harnesses.
  • Design and release new Top Assemblies combining both current and new parts designs.
  • Work with project management to ensure accurate schedules.
  • Support first article builds and testing.
  • Communicate with multiple departments regarding ongoing engineering efforts; maintain professionalism with executive management.

Job description

  • Base Pay $85,000.00 - $95,000.00 / Year

Participate in developing detailed specifications, work with an understanding of the integration of third-party devices, and partner with RF and electrical designers to meet customers’ requirements.

  • This candidate will communicate and provide information to several departments regarding ongoing efforts in the engineering department, which will require organizational savvy and composure
  • In addition, the ability to communicate effectively and act professionally is important as this role will interact with executive management

Requirements

Qualifications:
  • Required Education and Experience:
    • B.S. from a four-year college in the field of Mechanical Engineering or related field; Or two to four years work-related experience and/or training; OR equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Experienced 3D CAD designer
Required Skills and Abilities
  • Journeyman-level understanding and application of 3D CAD (Inventory and/or SolidWorks)
  • Mechanical design, materials, electronic wiring, power systems, and thermal management
  • Basic understanding of electronic signal flow
  • Basic understanding of RF systems
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Ability to quickly resolve open issues and deal with change
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or Green Card holder for authorized access to controlled technology/data as subject to ITAR
  • Proficient user of MS Office Suite, Teams, Asana
  • Proficient user of uniPoint, ERP, MRP, Adobe
  • Must have a positive attitude and be a self-starter
  • Able to work in a team environment and possess excellent organizational skills.
