Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Own mechanical systems end to end, from concept to production and field deployment.
• Design for high-temperature, corrosive and water-heavy environments, and electro-mechanical assemblies.
• Iterate quickly with proof-of-concepts and test rigs when speed matters.
• Run strength, thermal and reliability analysis and produce drawings using GD&T.
• Build jigs and fixtures, assemble robots, run tests and lead root cause analysis.
• Work with suppliers and cross-functional engineers to shape requirements.

Mechanical Engineer, Robotics | Austin, TX | $100k to $150k | US Citizen or Green Card

A fast-growing robotics startup in Austin is looking for a Mechanical Engineer who wants to own what they build, from first sketch to deployment in the field.

This is a great fit for an early-career engineer who already has hands-on robotics experience and wants far more ownership than a big company would give them. You'll design, build, test, and ship real systems, and your decisions will directly shape the product.

What you'll do

• Own mechanical systems end to end, from concept and CAD through to production and field deployment
• Design for demanding conditions, including high-temperature, corrosive, and water-heavy environments, as well as electro-mechanical assemblies
• Iterate quickly with proof-of-concepts and scrappy test rigs when speed matters
• Run strength, thermal, and reliability analysis, and produce drawings using GD&T
• Build jigs and fixtures, assemble robots, run tests, and lead root cause analysis on failures
• Work directly with suppliers, cross-functional engineers, and end users to shape requirements

What you'll bring

• 2+ years of mechanical design experience, including work on robotic systems
• Solid CAD and FEA skills (e.g. SolidWorks, Ansys)
• Working knowledge of GD&T
• A hands-on attitude and comfort speaking up, taking initiative, and moving fast

Nice to have

• Experience taking a product from design through to production
• Startup or 0 to 1 experience
• High autonomy and real ownership from day one
• Your work will leave the lab and get deployed in the field

Requirements

Based in or willing to relocate to Austin, TX. Must be a US Citizen or Green Card holder. This role can involve long hours around critical milestones.
