MECHANICAL ENGINEER
PRINCIPAL DUTIES
  • Assist in design of machines mechanically, both in 3D and detailing in 2D.
  • Program modification, testing and trouble shouting winding and automation machinery to process products of customers.
  • Perform electrical wiring and repairs to machines, including rewiring proximity switches, solenoids and install motors, drives, into machine control panels. Camera and vision sensor programming, Epson robots, laser marking, welding. (Can bus communication).
  • Develop bills of materials and documentation for machinery.
  • Perform mechanical/machine assembly functions, and able to work with tight tolerances.
  • Visit customer locations with equipment for direct service of existing machinery not correctable by phone.
  • Receive phone calls from customers regarding service of machines in the field.
  • Visit customer locations in order to install machinery and go through customer acceptance requirements.
  • Assist in programming winding and automation machinery to process products of customers.
  • Run acceptances of machinery in Europe to ensure they meet customer requirements.
  • Assist with spare parts identification and shipment of spare parts.
  • Document and monitor open points of the machine (s).
  • Connect remotely to the machine and give remote solutions to the customer.
  • Close communication with Italy and the US to provide solutions to complex machine problems.
DESIRE PROFILE
  • BS Engineering Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics or Automation.
  • Strong knowledge of automation in the Automotive Industry.
  • Knowledge in design CAD 3D and 2D (Solid Works, Co-create, AutoCAD or similar).
  • Knowledge with shop machinery (Mill, Lathe, Grinder, etc).
  • Knowledge in Pascal programming, C++, Java, C#.
  • Familiarity with PLCs (such as Allen-Bradley, Siemens).
  • Pneumatic and Hydraulic knowledge.
  • +5 years' experience service engineer.
  • Hands On.
  • Contact management software (Lotus Notes, ACT or similar).
  • Excellent communication skills, including verbal, written and presentation skills.
  • Must be able to read and decipher electrical schematics in European and American format.
  • Job entails extensive travel within North America (USA, MX and Canadá at least 50% of the time, some travel to Europe also possible).
  • Position will be located Austin, Texas, United States.
  • Remote work when not at the customer site.
  • Open to add some additional tasks to be part of the job description.
