  • Create and revise fabrication and assembly drawings using geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Assist with thermal and structural analyses using CFD and FEA tools and review results with experienced engineers.
  • Create and maintain bills of materials (BOMs), assembly instructions, test reports, and other engineering documentation.
  • Participate in design reviews and incorporate feedback from engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and other stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with systems, PCB layout, RF, electrical, and manufacturing engineers throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Support prototype builds, product testing, troubleshooting, and design improvements.
  • Assist with customer proposals, mechanical feasibility assessments, technical data packages, and contract deliverables.
  • Take ownership of assigned design tasks and complete them in accordance with project requirements and established engineering practices.
Skills and Qualifications

  • One to two years of relevant engineering experience; strong internship or co-op experience may be considered.
  • Experience with SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software.
  • Experience creating or modifying sheet-metal parts, enclosures, or chassis.
  • Familiarity with rack-mounted equipment, power distribution units, or electronic packaging is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of engineering drawings and basic GD&T principles.
  • Basic understanding of sheet-metal fabrication processes, mechanical fasteners, materials, and finishes.
  • Familiarity with bills of materials, assembly instructions, and engineering change or revision processes.
  • Exposure to thermal analysis, CFD, or FEA through professional, internship, or academic work.
  • Experience with SolidWorks PDM, SolidWorks Flow Simulation, SolidWorks Simulation, DraftSight, or AutoCAD is preferred.
  • Familiarity with design for manufacturability and assembly (DFMA) principles.
  • Knowledge of MIL-STDs, VITA standards, or NASA standards is a plus.
