Job summary

Central Plains Cement Company seeks a skilled maintenance technician to service underground mine mobile equipment. You will perform mechanical and electrical repairs, install preventive maintenance, and weld structural frames for reliability.

A strong safety mindset and the ability to read technical manuals are essential. Candidates should have HS diploma or GED, 5+ years in heavy manufacturing, and experience with CAT ET/SIS preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Formal training/certification in mobile equipment, mechanical or electrical maintenance, troubleshooting and repair.
• Minimum five years of hands-on experience in heavy manufacturing including heavy mobile equipment maintenance.
• Experience with CAT ET/SIS preferred.
• Welding in SMAW, FCAW and GMAW; ability to weld in all positions.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot mobile equipment problems to maximize productivity.
• Perform basic repairs for continuous operation.
• Follow safety and maintenance procedures and report issues.
• Conduct preventive/predictive maintenance and document findings.
• Fill out work orders and assist in locating stores materials.
• Welding of mobile equipment structural frames as required.

THE HOURLY RATE FOR THIS POSITION IS $39.51.

Nature and Scope

• All duties are performed in a work-safe manner; plant safety rules arefollowed and individual works as a team member.
• Works primarily on regular and heavy mobile equipment in the undergroundmine.
• Will perform work in the areas of mechanical maintenance and/or electricalrepairs on mobile equipment.
• Installs repairs and performs preventative maintenance on mine and plantmobile equipment.
• Some fabrication, assembly, welding, and cutting using sound maintenancepractices designed to maintain high reliability.
• Dismantles, repairs, and reassembles mobile equipment components to minimizedowntime.
• Performs preventative/predictive maintenance using advanced tools.

Specific Accountabilities

• Troubleshoot mobile equipment problems to achieve and maintain maximumproductivity.
• Perform immediate basic repairs to facilitate continuous operation.
• Report maintenance problems to the appropriate supervisor for action and/orparticipate in corrective actions if appropriate.
• Keep up to date on all maintenance and safety procedural changes and beinvolved in developing new procedures as required.
• Make preventive/predictive inspections and document findings as determined bythe Mobile Maintenance Coordinator and continuous improvement groups.
• Perform necessary tasks to ensure good housekeeping for safe and efficientoperation.
• Fill out and follow up on work orders and assist, when necessary, in locatingand issuing stores materials.
• Identify, report and assist in resolution of safety and environmentalconcerns and work practices that may affect the Health & Safety of employeesor other parties.
• Perform all other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Work anyshifts, including weekends, nights and paid holidays as schedules dictate.

Qualifications

• A High School diploma or GED is required.
• Able to perform physical labor, good communication abilities and perform jobrequirements and essential functions in a safe manner.
• Formal training/certification in mobile equipment, mechanical or electricalmaintenance, troubleshooting and repair.
• Minimum five years of hands‑on experience working in heavy manufacturingenvironment including:
• Heavy Mobile Equipment Maintenance
• Preference given to applicants with previous experience with CAT ET/SIS
• Diesel Engine Maintenance
• Mechanical equipment
• Welding and fabrication
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating andmaintenance instructions, procedure manuals and maintenance manuals.
• Must beable to interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics.
• Must be able to weld in all positions and be proficient in the followingprocesses: SMAW, FCAW and GMAW.
• Will be welding mobile equipment structuralframes.
• Communicate effectively with fellow workers and supervisors and be able towrite routine reports and correspondence.
• Experience in Tabware or otherCMMS is desirable.
• Minimum score of 65% or greater on average on the NOCTI test administeredduring selection.

Training

• The successful candidate will receive MSHA safety training as required andwill enter Job Specific training as designated by the Mobile MaintenanceCoordinator.
• Additional training will be provided as appropriate.
