Novolex is seeking a Mechanical Electrical Maintenance Technician in Grottoes, VA, with an immediate opening and a focus on reliability. You will troubleshoot, repair, calibrate, and maintain complex manufacturing equipment while minimizing downtime and ensuring safe, compliant operation.

The role offers a $7k sign-on bonus for qualified candidates, starting pay of $31.09 per hour with weekly payroll, and opportunities for wage growth and a monthly bonus based on plant productivity.

Qualifications

• 1 year experience as an Industrial/Manufacturing Maintenance Electrician or 2 years of trade/technical school in a related field.
• Basic mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to stand for long periods, climb, kneel, squat and crawl.
• Lift and carry materials and equipment up to 50 lbs.
• Electrical equipment and instrumentation or controls.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot PLC hardware and electrical systems.
• Calibrate, repair and maintain manufacturing equipment.
• Read drawings, schematics and diagrams.
• Document work performed and maintain records.

Mechanical Electrical Maintenance Technician| Grottoes, VA| Hiring Immediately

Compensation:

• *Now offering 7k sign on bonus to qualified candidates* (some restrictions apply)
• Starting pay rate is a $31.09- paid weekly!
• Eligible for annual & skill-based wage increases
• Eligible for monthly bonus based upon plant productivity*

Available Shift:

7:00AM-7:00PM/7:00PM-7:00AM (2x2x3)

(will rotate quarterly from days to nights)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform all assigned Electrical duties in a safe and cost-effective manner. Minimize downtime by providing fast and accurate troubleshooting, repair, inspection, maintenance, service, calibration, installation and configuration of related manufacturing and production equipment.
• Execute work orders
• Communicate effectively with employees, supervisors and managers.
• Maintain necessary records and documents of work performed.

• Troubleshoot PLC hardware
• Operate electrical test equipment and interpret results
• Read, understand and make use of associated drawings, schematics and diagrams
• Prepare accurate documents
• Understand, interpret and apply the National Electrical Code - NEC
• Plan, organize and prioritize work activities and duties
• Multitask and work under pressure
• Work flexible hours

EQUIPMENT:

AC & DC motors; motor controls; VFD’s; electrical distribution (480vac or less); PLC’s; pneumatics; hydraulics; extruders; winders; packing and box machinery; slitters; center-folders; grinders; shredders; chillers; heat exchangers; conveyors; and air compressors.

Qualifications:

• 1 year experience as an Industrial/Manufacturing Maintenance Electrician, or 2 years trade/technical school in a related field, or 4 years Industrial/Manufacturing experience with electrical knowledge, skills and abilities
• Basic mechanical aptitude
• Work alone, with a skilled tradesperson or operations personnel
• Work in a team environment
• Work with limited supervision
• Able to stand for long periods, climb, kneel, squat and crawl
• Lift and carry materials and equipment of 50 lbs or less
• Work flexible hours
• Electrical equipment and instrumentation or controls
• AC & DC motors, motor controls and MCC’a
• Electrical distribution and related equipment
• AC variable frequency drives/DC variable speed drives
• Programmable Logic Controllers and automated equipment
• General Industrial or Manufacturing standards & practices including OSHA
