Job summary

Novolex in Macon, GA is seeking an Electro-Mechanical Technician for 2nd shift (12 hours, 6:30 PM–6:30 AM). You will repair, modify, and maintain manufacturing equipment to ensure products stay in specification, while diagnosing electrical controls and PLCs.

Ideal candidates have at least five years in manufacturing maintenance, experience with CMMS (Maintenance Connection preferred), and a technical certificate. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and safety awareness are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Demonstrated industrial maintenance experience.
• At least five (5) years in a manufacturing environment with relevant tasks.
• At least three (3) years in mechanics.
• At least three (3) years in controls.
• CMMS experience; Maintenance Connection preferred.
• Technical school certificate/diploma in related area preferred.

Responsibilities

• Repair, modify, and maintain manufacturing equipment to ensure products are in specification.
• Fabricates parts not commercially available.
• Troubleshoots electric controls, motor control centers, and programmable logic controls.
• Communicates project needs with Maintenance & Production Supervisors/Managers.
• Assist in training and skill upgrading of other personnel.
• Maintain safe/clean work area and high attendance.
• Address safety issues and hazards promptly.
• Interpersonal skills and sense of urgency.
• Read PLC ladder diagrams and wiring diagrams.
• Work independently with minimal supervision.

Job Description

Electro-Mechanical Technician| Hiring Immediately | Macon, Georgia

Compensation:

• Competitive starting pay range of $34.95-$40.76 per hour, paid weekly

Available Shift:

• 2nd Shift
• 12-hour
• 6:30 PM - 6:30 AM
• 5-2-2-5

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Repair, modify, and maintain manufacturing equipment to ensure products are in specification.
• Fabricates parts not commercially available,
• Troubleshoots electric controls, motor control centers, and programmable logic controls.
• Communicates on all project needs with Maintenance & Production Supervisors/Managers.
• Assist (as required) in the training and skill upgrading of other maintenance and production personnel.
• Maintains excellent housekeeping standards to maintain a safe work area.
• Maintains effective communication with operators and plant supervision.
• Immediately addresses and reports safety issues or hazards.
• Maintains excellent safety record.
• Maintains an excellent attendance record.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Interpersonal skills.

• Must have good written and verbal communication skills
• Intermediate computer knowledge.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.

Qualifications:

• • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Demonstrated industrial maintenance experience.
  • At least five (5) years of experience in a manufacturing environment, including successful completion of jobs or similar activities.
  • At least three (3) years of experience in mechanics.
  • At least three (3) years of experience in controls.
  • Demonstrated self‑compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Experience with a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS); Maintenance Connection experience preferred.
  • A technical school certificate or diploma in a specific work‑related area, such as electronics technology or electro‑mechanical engineering technology, is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Standing for lengthy periods of time (frequent)
• Sitting for extended periods of time (frequent)
• Climbing up/down stairs/ladders/platforms (occasional)
• Working in a manufacturing environment that includes periods of hot and cold weather, dust, noise above 85 dBA, occasional odors, and moving equipment (frequent)
