Job summary

Ocean Blue Solutions is seeking an M/E Engineer II to join our El Paso team. You will coordinate mechanical and electrical systems across active construction projects, from planning through closeout, with hands-on field involvement.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in construction or engineering, strong attention to detail, and the ability to interface with project teams and clients to ensure quality and schedule adherence.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor-level degree in a mechanical, electrical, architectural or related field.
  • 2+ years of construction/engineering experience.
  • Strong coordination and field oversight skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the M/E coordination across projects.
  • Develop commissioning plans, pre-functional checklists, and testing procedures.
  • Develop schedules and sequencing for M/E systems; resolve conflicts.
  • Provide budgetary M/E estimates using automated estimating systems.
  • Review design options and perform systems analysis for select projects.
  • Support bid processes by developing M/E scopes and reviewing bids.
  • Review drawings/shop drawings to identify quality issues and ensure contract compliance.
  • Perform site inspections and prepare reports on workmanship and conformance.
  • Prepare constructability reviews and report findings to the team.
  • Interact with project teams and clients in a professional manner.
  • May assist with job pursuit presentations and M/E demonstrations.

Job description

Ocean Blue Solutions is seeking an M/E Engineer II to join our team in El Paso, TX. This role is responsible for coordinating mechanical and electrical systems across active construction projects, from initial planning through final closeout. The ideal candidate has hands‑on field experience, strong attention to detail, and enjoys full visibility into a project's lifecycle.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the mechanical/electrical coordination process across assigned projects
  • Develop, issue, and execute commissioning plans, including pre-functional checklists and functional testing procedures
  • Develop schedules and sequencing requirements for M/E systems, resolving conflicts to meet project timelines
  • Provide budgetary M/E estimates using automated estimating systems during preconstruction
  • Review mechanical/electrical design options and complete systems analysis for select projects
  • Support the bid process by developing M/E scopes of work, reviewing bid analyses, and assisting with subcontractor selection
  • Review design documents and shop drawings/submittals to identify quality issues and ensure contract compliance
  • Perform site inspections and prepare reports confirming work meets specifications and quality expectations
  • Prepare constructability reviews and report findings to the project teamParticipate in all phases of construction, from startup through closeout, to ensure successful project delivery
  • Interact independently with project teams and clients, representing the company in a professional manner
  • May support job pursuit presentations, representing M/E expertise to prospective clients
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Ability to perform work accurately and completely, and in a timely manner.
  • Communication skills, verbal and written (Intermediate).
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Intermediate).
  • Ability to read and understand plans, drawings and specifications.
  • Knowledge of means and methods of construction management.
  • Ability to build relationships and collaborate within a team, internally and externally.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related field
  • 2+ years of experience in construction and/or engineering
