Job summary

A global engineering firm is seeking a Mechanical EIT/Coordinator to coordinate mechanical aspects of commercial and institutional projects. The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and strong computer skills. Responsibilities include writing specifications, preparing construction documents, and supervising CAD Technicians. Qualifications

  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, Trane TRACE or similar software, and equipment selection software).

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate mechanical aspects of commercial or institutional projects.
  • Perform routine mechanical engineering assignments requiring application of standard techniques and procedures.
  • Write and edit mechanical specifications, and select mechanical systems and devices.
  • Utilize engineering software to develop HVAC loads, energy analysis and mechanical equipment selections.
  • Prepare construction documents for HVAC and plumbing design of buildings.
  • Work independently on small projects or assist senior engineers on larger projects.
  • Supervise work of Mechanical CAD Technicians and coordinate design of assigned projects with architectural staff.
  • Take responsibility for construction contract administration requiring field inspections.

Job Overview

In the role of Mechanical EIT/Coordinator, we'll count on you to:

  • Coordinate mechanical aspects of commercial or institutional projects
  • Perform routine mechanical engineering assignments requiring application of standard techniques and procedures
  • Write and edit mechanical specifications, and select mechanical systems and devices
  • Utilize engineering software to develop HVAC loads, energy analysis and mechanical equipment selections
  • Prepare construction documents for HVAC and plumbing design of buildings, including drawings, specifications and reports
  • Work independently on small projects, or assist more-senior engineers on larger projects
  • Supervise work of Mechanical CAD Technicians, and coordinate design of assigned projects with architectural staff and other engineering disciplines
  • Take responsibility for construction contract administration requiring field inspections and conflict resolution
  • Perform other duties as needed
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Architectural Engineering with Mechanical emphasis
  • Candidates hired without their EIT will have the title of "Coordinator" and will be expected to obtain their EIT for career progression.
  • Healthcare, Science and Technology and/or Civic facilities experience
  • Experience and/or interest in sustainable design/LEED desired but not required
  • Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering
