Valhalla Engineering Group LLC in Englewood, CO is seeking a Mechanical Engineer- EIT for a regular full-time position. The role reports to the Mechanical Discipline Lead and focuses on designing mechanical systems for facilities, with an emphasis on HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection.

Travel is limited to 10% and the compensation is salary-based. The successful candidate will hold a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering, be EIT eligible, and possess strong communication and problem-solving

Qualifications

• EIT or scheduled to take the EIT exam required.
• Undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university.
• LEED Certification is desirable.
• U.S. Citizenship and may require a security clearance.

Responsabilités

• Designs new mechanical equipment and systems and modifications for facilities (heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, plumbing, and fire protection systems).
• Evaluates design objectives and performs complex technical calculations and identifies economical procedures for design.
• Prepares construction plans on Revit and layouts for technicians; reviews completed work for technical adequacy.
• Prepares technical specifications, material estimates, correspondence, technical reports, and portions of design memoranda.
• Prepares detailed cost estimates for assigned projects and portions of projects.
• Assists with development of RFP responses and bids.
• Makes site visits to identify and resolve conflicts with existing conditions.
• Prepares energy-efficiency analyses to improve operations.
• Provides solutions to mechanical construction issues.

• EIT or scheduled to take the EIT exam required.
• Possess an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university.
• Dept. of Veterans Affairs, Corps of Engineers &/or other DoD engineering experience desired.
• LEED Certification is desirable.
• Requires U.S. Citizenship and may require a security clearance.
• Be self-motivated, able to perform and solve problems independently, and take the initiative to make sound decisions with minimal oversight.
• Possess good written and oral communication skills
• Proficiency in computer design software programs including: AutoCad (Autodesk or Bentley), Construction Estimating systems, MS Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, et.) MS Project & Visio, Adobe Acrobat, and other various design and project scheduling software.
• Experience with BIM/Revit a bonus.

Major Duties:

• Designs new mechanical equipment and systems and modifications for facilities (heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, plumbing, and fire protection systems).
• Evaluates design objectives, performs complex technical calculations, identifies economical and efficient procedures for design and resolves applicability of criteria.
• Prepares construction plans on Revit and prepares layouts for development of drawings by technicians and reviews completed work for technical adequacy and completeness.
• Prepares technical specifications, material estimates, correspondence, technical reports, and portions of design memoranda.
• Prepares detailed cost estimates for assigned projects and assigned portions of projects.
• Assists with the development of Requests for Proposal (RFPs) responses.
• Makes site visits to identify and eliminate conflicts with existing conditions.
• Prepares detailed engineering economic analyses to produce more energy efficient operations.
• Provides solutions to mechanical construction issues.

Coordinates reviews and recommends approval action of shop drawings, submittals, and O&M manuals submitted on construction projects.
