Job summary

Euroline Steel Windows is seeking a Mechanical Drafter to strengthen the Engineering Department. You will develop and maintain design standards to ensure accurate, robust designs and provide Production with complete manufacturing information.

The role involves creating 3D models, BOMs, and drawings, while collaborating with engineers and other teams to improve products and drafting libraries.

Qualifications

• Experience with SolidWorks.
• 2D modeling using DraftSight or AutoCAD.
• High school graduate; CAD drafting experience required.
• PDM knowledge is a plus.
• Sheet metal or machining knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Reverse engineer components and assemblies from physical samples.
• Build 3D models with design intent, fully defined sketches, global variables, configurations, and equations.
• Create and maintain BOMs, part numbers, and drawing revisions.
• Model 3D objects from 2D content.
• Capture 3D model geometry using hand metrology equipment: calipers, tape measures, thread gages, etc.
• Identify, resolve, or question discrepancies as necessary and report to the manager.
• Comprehend vendor product specifications.
• Produce drawings using SolidWorks/DraftSight.
• Create and respond to emails using Outlook regarding drafting projects.
• Create drafting library content.
• Support the Drafting team as an overflow resource based on workload and project needs.

Job Summary:

Required Qualifications:

• Experience with SolidWorks.
• Experience with 2D modeling software (DraftSight or AutoCAD).

Education & Experience:

• High school graduate. Some College preferred but not required.
• Experience or Education as a CAD drafter is required.
• Experience with PDM is a plus.
• Sheet metal or machining process knowledge is a plus.

Physical Demands:

• Sedentary work, including sitting most of the time, with occasional exertion of up to 10 pounds of force.
• Talking: Must be able to convey detailed or important spoken instructions accurately.
• Hearing: Must be able to receive detailed information through oral communication.

Work Environment:

• The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions, such as in typical office or administrative work.
