Job summary

Laitram Machinery in Harahan, LA is seeking a Mechanical Drafter to join our in-office team. You will create 2D drawings and 3D models for new equipment and design changes, and help maintain accurate BOMs and engineering documentation.

This role requires SolidWorks and AutoCAD experience, familiarity with PDM/ERP, and the ability to read machine drawings. You’ll join a skilled team supporting seafood processing equipment with a history of designing high-performance machinery.

Qualifications

• 5+ years CAD drawing experience.
• 2+ years SolidWorks or equivalent 3D software.
• 2+ years Autodesk programs, mainly AutoCAD.
• Strong ability to read machine part drawings.
• Fluent in English, written and spoken.
• Proficient with Windows and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Create 2D drawings and 3D models for new equipment and design changes.
• Create/maintain bills of materials for manufacturing using SolidWorks, PDM, and ERP.
• Maintain engineering documents using Product Data Management systems.
• Maintain and grow 3D model components library.
• Check drawings to company and industry standards.
• Assist technical writer with equipment manuals.
