United Rotorcraft, based in Englewood, Colorado, is seeking a Mechanical Drafter to join the Engineering team and create detailed drawings for aircraft modification and manufacturing projects.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in design engineering/drafting or equivalent.
  • 5–10 years’ experience with aircraft mechanical systems.
  • Knowledge of test equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Drafts mechanical drawings to facilitate installation in aircraft according to FAA Regulations and MIL specifications.
  • Provides technical support to the Mechanical Design Engineer/Project Engineer with respect to project deliverables and schedules.
  • Supports design modifications, Engineering Change Orders, and prototype development.
  • Consults with aircraft/vendor reps to resolve problems.
  • Assists on installation activities and data planning in drawing packages; modifies existing products as needed.
  • Checks drawings generated by other drafters.
  • Indicate the percentage of time spent traveling <1%.

Overview
Why United Rotorcraft?

As a Mechanical Drafter, you’ll work alongside our Engineering team to create detailed mechanical drawings that support real-world aircraft modification and manufacturing projects. It’s a great opportunity to grow your aviation experience and see your work go from drawing to finished aircraft.

Pay

Salary Range: $27.50 – $33.66 HourlyActual compensation is based on relevant experience, education, technical expertise, certifications, and overall qualifications. This position is also eligible for Air Methods’ comprehensive employee benefits package.

Responsibilities
  • Drafts mechanical drawings to facilitate installation in aircraft according to FAA Regulations and MIL specifications
  • Provides technical support to the Mechanical Design Engineer/Project Engineer with respect to project deliverables, cost estimates with adherence to schedule and providing overall project status.
  • The Mechanical Drafter will support design modifications, Engineering Change Orders, general analysis, hardware testing and prototype development and supports design reviews and meetings if required.
  • Consults with aircraft/vendor’s product service representatives to resolve problems
  • Assists on installation activities, planning installation/repair modification data in drawing packages; modifies existing off-the shelf products to comply to company needs and produce documentation of modifications
  • Check mechanical drawings generated by other Drafters
  • Other Duties as assigned.
  • Indicate the percentage of time spent traveling <1%

Education & Experience
  • Associate’s degree (A.A.) in design engineering/drafting or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; and 5-10 years’ directly related experience with aircraft mechanical systems and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Emphasis on aircraft systems preferred.
  • Knowledge of test equipment
Skills
  • Ability to Interpret and use aircraft manufacture’s maintenance manuals, equipment installation instructions, and wiring diagrams
  • Understanding of FAA certification processes, aircraft operations, and electrical/communication and navigation systems
  • Processes data within already defined procedures
  • Excellent organizational skills, detail oriented, ability to prioritize and multi-task and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Computer Skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Prior technical knowledge, training and experience in SolidWorks, and AutoCAD
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
  • FCC license and/or FAA repairman certificate preferred
Minimum pay

USD $27.50/Hr.

Maximum Pay

USD $33.66/Hr.
