Job summary

Nexus Circular LLC is seeking an experienced Mechanical Discipline Lead to oversee mechanical engineering across the full project lifecycle from FEL-2 through commissioning on large capital expansion projects.

The role requires independent leadership of mechanical teams, specification of static and rotating equipment, and alignment with project managers and EPC partners to meet cost, schedule, and safety goals.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering.
• 7–10+ years leading the mechanical discipline on large capital projects in chemical/process or advanced manufacturing.
• Deep understanding of API, ASME, ANSI codes for static and rotating equipment.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical discipline on capital projects; define scope and deliverables per project phase.
• Provide technical leadership to mechanical teams and EPC partners; review specifications and drawings.
• Specify equipment and materials; ensure compliance with codes, safety, and company policies.
• Coordinate with project managers to align scope, priorities, interfaces, quality, and schedule.
• Identify mechanical risks and develop mitigation plans; communicate decisions to leadership.
• Develop standards and templates to improve quality and standardization.
• Ensure designs are safe for field erection and operation; participate in MOC, PHA, and Change Orders.
• Travel to Nexus locations or vendor sites as needed (approx. 20%).
