Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Mechanical Designer/Drafter in York, NE to support the design and manufacturing of custom equipment. You will create detailed production and assembly drawings using SolidWorks and translate concepts into production-ready documentation.

You will maintain engineering records, manage BOMs in the ERP, and collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and procurement to resolve design issues on the shop floor.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Drafting & Design or related field; or a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering.
• Recent graduates encouraged to apply for Designer I; 2+ years SolidWorks for Designer II.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed production, fabrication, and assembly drawings using SolidWorks.
• Translate concepts and 3D models into manufacturable documentation.
• 3D modeling and design updates as needed.
• Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) in the ERP system.
• Manage CAD files, revisions, and documentation using SolidWorks PDM/Vault.
• Process ECOs and keep documentation up to date.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and procurement to resolve issues.
• Support manufacturing with technical documentation and shop-floor support.
• Visit production floor to verify designs and resolve concerns.
