Job summary

Cyclonaire in York, Nebraska is seeking a Mechanical Designer 1 to translate concepts into detailed 2D production drawings using SolidWorks and PDM Vault. You will collaborate with engineers and production, prepare assembly and weldment drawings, and help ensure designs match fabrication capabilities at our Nebraska facility.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent in CAD/Drafting, or 1–2 years related experience.
• Understanding of mechanical design concepts and pneumatic circuits.
• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
• Ability to work within established design standards and guidelines.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to manage details, priorities, and deadlines.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Teams.

Responsibilities

• Create 2D production drawings using SolidWorks and PDM Vault.
• Prepare assembly, part, weldment, and customer approval drawings.
• Translate models, specifications, layouts, blueprints, and sketches into accurate technical drawings.
• Work closely with engineers and designers to complete projects.
• Partner with our production team to ensure designs align with fabrication techniques and manufacturing capabilities.
• Help manage drawing priorities and deadlines to keep projects moving.
• Develop documentation for designed equipment.
• Gain hands-on knowledge of industrial equipment, metal fabrication, and manufacturing processes.
