Job summary

VAA is seeking a Mechanical Designer to join its growing team in Minneapolis, MN. The role focuses on mechanical design for infrastructure that supports commerce and sustainability, including HVAC, plumbing, and building systems for various facilities.

You will prepare construction documents with Engineers and Project Managers, utilize Revit 3D and Plant 3D, and may travel for site observations. This is a hybrid/remote position based in Minneapolis.

Qualifications

• Certificate in construction related drafting or related courses.
• At least three years HVAC and plumbing design experience or four years total experience.
• Proficiency in Revit 3D and Plant 3D.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete construction documents with Engineers and Project Managers, and assist during construction support.
• Review and back-check Technician's work and coordinate designs with team members and vendors.
• Communicate with clients and/or contractors regarding RFIs and field questions.
• Occasional travel for site observations and field measurements may be required.

Mechanical Designer (Hybrid/Remote)

Our growing firm is looking for passionate problem-solvers driven to make a real impact: we\'re hiring a Mechanical Designer. Design the infrastructure that propels commerce, enables a more sustainable impact, elevates municipal services, and creates impressive gathering spaces. At VAA, you\'ll have unique opportunities to utilize your talents and experience while flexing your problem-solving muscles.

The Mechanical team designs material handling, process ventilation and building safety systems, process and utility piping and heat exchangers, and building HVAC and plumbing systems for agribusiness, industrial and commercial facilities.

Your role:

The Designer works with Engineers and Project Managers to prepare complete construction documents and assists during the construction support phase.

Process & Utility piping isometrics, layout plans, sections and details to specified CAD standards working directly with engineers or project managers.

Provide direction and distribute work to Technicians.

Review and back-check the Technician\'s work.

Coordinate designs with team members and product vendors.

Communicate with clients and/or contractors regarding RFI's and field questions.

Further develop design skills to support the advancement of technical expertise.

Attend internal coordination meetings and client coordination meetings.

May require occasional travel for site observations and field measurements.

Your resume must include:

Certificate in construction related drafting or related courses and at least three years of HVAC and plumbing design experience OR at least four years of HVAC and plumbing design experience

Proficiency in Revit 3D and Plant 3D

Starting Hourly Range: $28.50 - $33.50. A variety of factors are considered when determining an offer including, but not limited to, market data, geographic location, experience, and specialized skills.
