Job summary

Benshaw, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Designer to join its R&D team in Pittsburgh. You will design, prototype, and optimize mechanical systems for electrical enclosures and power electronics, ensuring manufacturability and regulatory alignment.

You will collaborate with electrical engineers and production teams, build 3D models and drawings, and support testing from concept through production transfer. Relocation assistance is not offered; onsite work is required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in electrical components.
• Expertise in mechanical design, analysis, and optimization.
• Proficiency with CAD software such as SolidWorks or Autodesk Inventor.
• Experience designing for manufacturability, cost-effectiveness, and reliability.
• Strong understanding of material properties and mechanical behavior.
• Familiarity with electrical components industry standards and safety guidelines.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
• Effective verbal and written communication across teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components and systems for electrical products.
• Collaborate with electrical engineers, product managers, and manufacturing teams.
• Create 3D models and 2D drawings using CAD software.
• Ensure regulatory and safety standards compliance.
• Develop prototypes and evaluate mechanical designs.
