Job summary

Engineering Resource Group is seeking a Mechanical Drafter in Linden, New Jersey, to design rotating machinery drawings and support the manufacture of motors and industrial fans.

You will collaborate with mechanical engineers to develop 2D drawings and 3D models, maintain drawing libraries, and ensure accurate specifications. Proficiency in SolidWorks and DraftSight, and GD&T knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience with Mechanical Drafting.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks 3D CAD and DraftSight 2D CAD.
• Ability to take SolidWorks 3D models and create accurate 2D drawings.
• Ability to create or modify 3D models of complex parts using SolidWorks.
• Experience with GD&T.
• Ability to obtain a security clearance.

Responsibilities

Job description

• Contract to direct position for a Mechanical Drafter to design rotating machinery drawings.
• Training will be given to support the design, documentation, and manufacture of motors and industrial fans.
• Work closely with the mechanical engineers to develop detailed design drawings and specifications for the manufacture of rotating equipment.
• Equipment includes electric motors and vane-axial fans.
• Maintain and update the engineering drawing library, engineering standards, and computer systems.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Experience with Mechanical Drafting.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, good computer skills, an excellent work ethic and expert technical capacity.
• Proficiency in Solidworks 3D CAD and DraftSight 2D CAD.
• Ability to take Solidworks 3-D models and create accurate and detailed 2D drawings.
• Ability to create 3D models, or modify existing 3D models of complex parts using Solidworks.
• Experience with GD&T.
• Ability to successfully obtain a security clearance.
