Job summary

Craftsmen Industries, Inc. in St. Charles, MO seeks a Designer for a 3-month temporary assignment to support engineering with mechanical design, drafting and detailing for trailers, truck bodies, and shelters.

You will develop drawings from 3D models and collaborate with production and purchasing to ensure correct fabrication and assembly. Ideal candidates hold an associate degree and 2–4 years of large-assembly design experience, with SOLIDWORKS proficiency and familiarity with sheet metal,

Qualifications

Associate's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
2–4 years large assembly design experience including fabrication, sheet metal, and machined parts.
Proficiency in SOLIDWORKS with emphasis on sheet metal and weldments.
Knowledge of ASME Y14.100 and reference standards; AWS D1.1 and D1.2.
Proficiency in MS Office; strong verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

Promote and maintain a safe work environment by following company safety policies, OSHA standards, and proper use of PPE.
Create mechanical drawings based upon 3D model geometry.
Work with manufacturing to guide and assist in fabrication, assembly, and installation of the designed systems.
Assist in improvement of product designs and overall finished product quality.
Work effectively in a project team environment.
Participate in design reviews.
