Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Mechanical Designer to support the design, development, and improvement of custom machinery and manufacturing equipment. This role collaborates with engineering, production, and customer-facing teams to ensure designs meet performance, quality, and customer requirements.

You will create detailed 3D models, drawings, BOMs, and layouts using CAD software, while coordinating with vendors to ensure manufacturability and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Design, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or related field.
• Experience with 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo, or similar.
• Understanding of mechanical design principles, manufacturing processes, and material selection.
• Ability to create detailed fabrication and assembly drawings.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Experience supporting custom machinery, industrial equipment, automation systems, or precision manufacturing environments is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed 3D models, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings using CAD software.
• Design custom mechanical systems, machine components, and production equipment.
• Develop bills of materials (BOMs), layouts, and fabrication documentation.
• Work with engineers and manufacturing personnel to improve product designs and manufacturability.
• Support new product development and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Participate in design reviews, troubleshooting efforts, and project meetings.
• Coordinate with vendors and suppliers on purchased components and technical specifications.
• Ensure designs comply with safety, quality, and customer requirements.
