Job summary

Energy Jobline ZR is seeking a Mechanical Designer in North Houston, TX. This contract-to-hire role focuses on designing custom mechanical systems from concept to production, with responsibilities spanning modeling, layouts, and documentation.

The ideal candidate will have 2–5 years of mechanical design experience, a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, and proficiency in AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, and SolidWorks. Strong communication and independent work skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of mechanical design experience in industrial equipment.
• Degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent preferred.
• Experience with pressure systems or vessel design standards is a plus.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor; SolidWorks experience is a plus.
• Strong communication and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Design custom mechanical equipment based on client specifications.
• Draft layouts, design specifications, and product documentation for new and existing systems.
• Develop P&ID diagrams and integrate them into BOMs.
• Model parts and assemblies using CAD tools (AutoCAD, Inventor).
• Process Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and design changes.
• Organize engineering records to ensure accessibility and compliance.
• Ensure designs meet safety standards and performance targets.
• Support prototyping, testing, and manufacturing setup.
• Collaborate with sales, field service, and procurement teams.
