Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Mechanical Designer in Salt Lake City to translate requirements into accurate 3D conveyor layouts and detailed part drawings using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD. You will develop BOMs, coordinate with engineering, purchasing, and manufacturing, and visit project sites to verify dimensions and clearances.

Applicants should have five years of 3D conveyor layout experience and strong Inventor proficiency, with shop release experience preferred.

Qualifications

• At least five years of experience in 3D conveyor layout and design.
• At least five years of experience using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD in a 3D environment.
• Strong Autodesk Inventor proficiency is required. Candidates will complete an Inventor drawing assessment.
• Knowledge of conveyor and material handling products.
• Experience preparing conveyor layout drawing packages and bills of materials for shop releases.
• Understanding of AWS weld symbols.
• Proficiency in Windows and Excel.
• Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Create 3D conveyor layouts, detailed part drawings, assemblies, and system drawing packages using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD.
• Interpret specifications and drawings provided by project engineers, architects, and consultants.
• Prepare conveyor layout packages for customer review and approval.
• Develop bills of materials, parts lists, purchase requisitions, and manufacturing releases.
• Coordinate with engineering, purchasing, and manufacturing to resolve design questions and support fabrication and assembly.
• Assist with calculations and research under the direction of an engineer.
• Participate in design reviews, track deadlines, and communicate project status.
• Visit project sites as needed to verify dimensions and installation clearances.
• Follow established drafting standards and documentation procedures.
