Job summary

RESPEC in Alaska is seeking a Mechanical Designer/BIM Technician to join our full-service engineering team in Fairbanks or Anchorage. If you’re passionate about drafting and modeling complex systems, you’ll contribute to world-class projects using BIM software.

You'll work primarily with Revit and related tools to design HVAC and plumbing layouts, create plan sheets, and coordinate across disciplines. We offer mentorship, growth opportunities, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in BIM and CADD software (Revit, Plant 3D, AutoCAD, Recap).
• Interest in emerging technologies and building information modeling.
• Strong visualization skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a collaborative team and interpret guidance.
• 3+ years of mechanical drafting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Model HVAC and plumbing systems and produce plan sheets.
• Coordinate design across disciplines to ensure clash-free documentation.

Job Description

We are seeking a Mechanical Designer/ BIM Technician to join our full-service engineering team in Fairbanks or Anchorage, Alaska! 1. Cutting-Edge Technology: Get ready to dive into the world of BIM software! You will work primarily in Revit and have the opportunity to leverage Autodesk Construction Cloud, Plant 3D, AutoCAD, Recap and Bluebeam Revu to enhance your workflows. These powerful platforms empower you to digitally prototype and document precise, clash-free designs that bring facility projects to life.

2. Impactful work: Your role will directly contribute to the success of construction projects. From modeling HVAC and plumbing system layouts to producing plan sheets, elevations, and sections, your work will shape the future of our built environment.

4. Library Management: Curate and maintain our BIM and CADD library, ensuring seamless access to essential resources and support files.

• Proficiency in BIM and CADD software (Autodesk Revit, Plant 3D, AutoCAD and Recap)
• Interest in emerging technologies
• Strong visualization skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work and communicate effectively in collaborative team settings
• Ability to interpret written, verbal, and visual direction

Additional Preferred Experience / Skills:

• 3+ years of experience in mechanical drafting and modeling preferred
• Experience in construction and related trades will be beneficial

Additional Information

Compensation: Salary depends on experience and expertise. Compensation includes a comprehensive fringe-benefits package.RESPEC is a 100 percent employee-owned company, and employees are eligible for participation in the Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) after a qualifying period.

Work Schedule: During the summer months; 40 hours/week.
