Job summary

ZAP Engineering seeks a Mechanical Designer 3 to support Bethlehem, PA projects. The role focuses on creating 3D models from scans, drawings, and vendor data, and generating detailed mechanical drawings for bids and construction.

Responsibilities include coordinating with multiple disciplines, producing GA and M drawings, and ensuring output accuracy. Requires 7+ years of drafting, CAD proficiency, and leadership experience in a heavy industrial context.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in related field is required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field is preferred.
• 7+ years of drafting or modeling experience using AutoDesk products is required.
• 6 months to 3 years of leadership experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Create 3D models from 3D scans, plant drawings, P&ID’s and EFDs.
• Create 3D models from vendor drawings and plant layouts.
• Prepare 2D/3D general arrangement and mechanical design drawings for bid, approval and construction.
• Coordinate with disciplines to ensure accurate models and outputs.
• Lead, train, and advise managers as needed.
