Job summary

Welker, Inc. in Sugar Land, TX seeks a detail-oriented Mechanical Designer to create production-ready 3D models and drawings and support product development from concept through production. You will work closely with engineering and manufacturing to ensure designs meet customer requirements and manufacturing standards.

The role emphasizes accurate documentation, BOM control, and collaboration across teams in a hands-on manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Mechanical Design or related field.
• 2+ years of mechanical design and drafting experience.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specs.

Responsibilities

• Create and modify 3D models, assemblies and drawings using SolidWorks.
• Develop and maintain BOMs, routings, and engineering documentation.
• Interpret customer requirements, specifications and instructions.
• Revise existing designs to support improvements and custom apps.
• Produce manufacturing-ready drawings with dimensions, tolerances and materials.
• Collaborate with engineers, machinists, assemblers and sales to ensure manufacturability.
• Use ERP systems to release and maintain engineering data.
