Job Summary

The Mechanical Designer will be responsible for designing mechanical components and assemblies while supporting product development from concept through production. This role works closely with engineering, sales, manufacturing, and quality teams to create manufacturable designs, maintain technical documentation, and resolve design-related challenges throughout the product lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineering and sales teams to understand project requirements and design objectives
• Create detailed 3D models and 2D mechanical drawings for components and assemblies
• Apply mechanical engineering principles and manufacturing best practices throughout the design process
• Maintain and update drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), specifications, and technical documentation
• Ensure all designs comply with company standards, quality requirements, industry regulations, and customer specifications
• Partner with manufacturing and cross-functional teams during development and production phases
• Provide technical support and troubleshoot design, assembly, and production issues
• Investigate and resolve BOM discrepancies, design concerns, and engineering deviations
• Support pilot builds, engineering changes, and process improvement initiatives
• Participate in design reviews to validate functionality, quality, and manufacturability
• Work closely with quality teams to address and resolve design-related concerns
• Communicate technical information, design modifications, and project updates across departments

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
• Approximately 5 years of experience as a Mechanical Designer or in a similar mechanical design role
• Strong experience creating 3D CAD models and 2D mechanical drawings
• Proficiency with Autodesk Inventor or comparable CAD software
• Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and manufacturing processes
• Experience creating, maintaining, and managing technical design documentation
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
