Working alongside engineers and project managers, you will help develop innovative and practical solutions for clients while gaining experience across multiple project types.**Here's a snapshot of what you would do in this role:*** Conduct facility studies, assessments, and evaluations, including:* Existing system due diligence reviews* Facility condition assessments* Feasibility and conceptual design studies* Probable construction costs* Indoor air quality evaluations* Utility master planning* Assist in the design of:* HVAC systems* Building automation systems and energy management systems.* Plumbing systems* Fire protection systems* Special piping systems* Prepare construction drawings and contract documents using Revit.* Perform field investigations and document existing mechanical systems.* Assist engineers with:* Load calculations* Energy modeling* Equipment selection* System layouts and design development* Support the preparation of technical specifications, reports, and design documentation.* Participate in shop drawing reviews and construction administration activities.* Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.* Perform other duties as assigned by project and department leadership.**What We're Looking For****Education & Experience** * Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.* Minimum of four (4) years of experience designing and drafting (modeling) mechanical building systems (including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection).* Experience with building systems commissioning is a plus.* E.I.T. certification.* PE or ability to get licensed in one (1) year a plus.**Technical Skills** * Proficiency with Revit.* Experience with Trane Trace or similar energy modeling/load calculation software is preferred.* Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.* Ability to interpret construction documents, including engineering drawings and specifications.**Professional Skills** * Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to engineers, clients, contractors, and stakeholders.* Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships both internally and externally.* Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn new technical concepts and software tools.* Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.* Interest in supporting a variety of project types and technical assignments.**Additional Requirements** * Ability to collaborate effectively with team members located in multiple office locations.* Willingness to travel occasionally for project-related assignments and field investigations.* Ability to work additional hours when necessary to meet project schedules and client commitments.This is an exempt position.
