Job summary

Liberty Personnel Services, Inc. is seeking an experienced mechanical design engineer to draft 2D/3D fabrication and assembly drawings for power, petrochemical, and heavy industrial projects in New Jersey.

You will design ducting, piping layouts, isometrics, supports, and structural components from concept through fabrication. The role requires 3+ years in mechanical design with strong AutoCAD and 3D CAD skills (Inventor, MicroStation).

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or related field
• U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Permanent Residency (Green Card) is Required
• 3+ years of mechanical design experience in heavy industrial, power generation, petrochemical, or process equipment
• Strong AutoCAD and 3D CAD experience including Inventor, MicroStation, or similar
• Experience designing ducting, piping, structural steel, and pressure vessels
• Knowledge of OSHA, AISC, ASME Section VIII, B31.1, and B31.3
• Familiarity with welding and fabrication practices
• Able to interpret engineering specifications and produce fabrication drawings
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

• Produce detailed 2D and 3D fabrication and assembly drawings
• Design ducting, piping layouts, isometrics, supports, and structural components
• Prepare bills of material and drawing packages
• Review fabrication and erection drawings for accuracy and constructability
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, fabricators, vendors, and clients
• Incorporate customer and internal revisions into final designs
• Improve manufacturability and fabrication efficiency through practical design solutions
• Travel up to 10% for vendor visits, field support, and inspections
