Job summary

Victaulic in Easton, PA is seeking a Mechanical Designer to join the Engineering Design Department. You will create and document product solutions using SolidWorks, collaborating with Product Engineers and cross-functional teams to meet customer needs.

You will maintain design data, ensure manufacturability and cost targets, and apply ANSI/ASME standards throughout the product lifecycle while contributing to a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology preferred or equivalent experience.
• Proficient 3D CAD using SolidWorks; familiarity with SolidWorks PDM.
• Knowledge of engineering design practices, tolerances, fits and GD&T.

Responsibilities

• Create/modify concept layouts, 3D models, assemblies, and detail drawings using SolidWorks CAD/PDM tools.
• Research component resources to support project objectives.
• Provide design solutions with attention to form, fit, function, manufacturability and cost.
• Apply ANSI/ASME standards and internal best practices.
• Maintain Technical Data Package across product lifecycle (drawings, BOM, revisions).
• Collaborate with Product Engineers and cross-functional teams.

Victaulic is seeking a Mechanical Designer to join our Engineering Design Department at our corporate facilities in Easton, PA. In this role, you'll work within a collaborative team environment to design and document product solutions that satisfy our customers' needs. You'll bring a strong aptitude for creative design, resourcefulness, and attention to detail while partnering comfortably across a cross-functional team environment.

WHAT YOU'LL BUILD & OWN

• Create and/or modify concept layouts, 3D models, assemblies, and detail drawings utilizing SolidWorks Computer Aided Design (CAD) with SolidWorks Product Data Management (PDM) software.
• Research relevant component and technical related resources in support of project objectives.
• Provide design solutions while being mindful of form, fit, function, manufacturability, and cost.
• Apply internal best practices along with applicable industry standards, e.g. ANSI, ASME.
• Maintain Technical Data Package throughout product lifecycle, e.g. drawings, revision history, bill of materials, literature submittals, etc.
• Collaborate with Product Engineers and entire product development teams.

WHAT YOU BRING

• Associate's Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology preferred, or equivalent work-related experience.
• Proficient use of a 3D CAD software, SolidWorks preferred.
• Thorough understanding of the creation of detail drawings to fully convey form, fit, function along with most efficient manufacturability.
• Knowledge of engineering design practices/principles, e.g. interference checks, fits, tolerance stack-up/dimensional analysis, GD&T.
• Proficient use of Microsoft Office.
• Excellent communication and organization skills.
