Job summary

PTS Advance seeks a Mechanical Designer for a refinery project located in Meraux, LA. The role focuses on preparing detailed drawings, P&ID isometrics, and 3D CADWorx designs for fabrication and construction.

The position involves field visits to capture dimensions and notes, with responsibilities including line and valve lists. Requires a minimum of 3 years in petrochemical drafting and knowledge of industry standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience drafting and design in the petrochemical industry.
• Knowledge of ANSI, ASME, PFI and related standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare engineering drawings for construction and fabrication work, including detailed drawings, as-builts, schematics and piping isometrics.
• Provide CADWorx drafting and design services for mechanical and piping drawings for fabrication and construction.
• Create 3D CADWorx designs from sketches or diagrams; coordinate with other disciplines.
• Travel to field to collect dimensions and field notes; climb ladders, stairs, and pipe racks as needed.
• Prepare Line Lists, Manual Valve Lists, and Drawings Lists.

Mechanical Designer

Client: Refinery

Location: Meraux, La

Duration: 2 years plus

Job Responsibilities:

• Prepare engineering drawings for construction and fabrication work including detailed drawings, as-builts, schematics and flow diagrams, P&ID's and piping isometric drawings
• Provide a full range of drawing production work including problem analysis, design layout, and calculations
• Work with other disciplines on the project Provide advanced CADWorx drafting and design services by preparing and maintaining mechanical and piping engineering drawings for use in fabrication and construction Prepare CADWorx 3D designs from general instruction and/or preliminary sketches, diagrams, or schematics
• Travel to field to make field sketches, take dimensions, and notes for drawing accuracy and climb ladders, stairs, and pipe racks at these locations
• Prepare Line Lists, Manual Valve Lists, Drawings Lists

Qualifications & Skills for Success:

Minimum of 3 years of experience working drafting and design in petrochemical industry (preferred)

Knowledgeable of various petrochemical standards and codes: ANSI, ASME, PFI, etc.
