Job summary

Addison Group in Houston seeks a skilled design drafter to support CO2 pipeline and facility projects. Responsibilities

  • Develop, review, and maintain engineering drawings using AutoCAD and CADWorx with minimal supervision.

Job description

This position provides design and drafting support for construction, engineering, and as-built projects serving Engineering, Operations, and Project Management teams. Primary responsibilities include supporting CO2 pipeline and facility projects, as well as projects for the ETV and LNG business groups. The successful candidate will develop and review design drawings, coordinate project priorities, assist with project scoping and estimating, and ensure the quality and accuracy of deliverables.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop, review, and maintain engineering and design drawings using AutoCAD and CADWorx with minimal supervision.
    • Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)
    • Isometric Drawings
    • Plot Plans
    • Material Lists and related project documentation
  • Support the execution of capital, maintenance, and as-built projects for pipelines and facility assets.
  • Coordinate multiple projects and assignments simultaneously while meeting established schedules and priorities.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Project Management, and other stakeholders to ensure design requirements are clearly defined and executed.
  • Assist with project scoping, estimating, drafting standards, and quality assurance reviews.
  • Develop and maintain drafting processes, procedures, and standards that improve efficiency, quality, customer service, and cost effectiveness.
  • Monitor and support performance metrics related to productivity, quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and identify opportunities to add value to the organization.
  • Maintain clear and timely communication regarding project expectations, milestones, deadlines, and reporting requirements.
  • Foster strong working relationships and open communication across departments and with internal customers.
Position Requirement and Technical Skills:
  • 3-7 years of mechanical design experience in pipeline, refinery, plant, tanks, and inbound/outbound facilities is required.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and CADWorx.
  • Strong understanding of the construction, operation, and maintenance of CO2 and natural gas pipeline facilities.
  • Knowledge of industrial plant and facility design, including:
    • Compressor stations
    • Pump stations
    • Meter stations
    • Process Safety Management (PSM) facilities
    • High-pressure gas systems and associated equipment
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to effectively interact with employees, field personnel, and management at all levels.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to influence and collaborate without direct authority.
  • Strong project coordination, planning, and organizational abilities.
  • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate alternatives and provide sound recommendations.
  • Self-motivated with a commitment to continuous learning and adapting to new technologies.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, maintain confidentiality, and work effectively with remote team members.
  • Demonstrated commitment to personal safety, operational excellence, and the safety of employees, company assets, and the public.
Education:
  • Associate degree in Drafting, Design Technology, Engineering Technology, or a related field preferred.
  • Relevant industry experience may be considered in lieu of formal education
