Selectek is seeking an experienced Mechanical Designer in Abilene, TX. The ideal candidate will work with Project Managers and Engineers to develop 3D models and drawings, ensuring accurate equipment designs. Responsibilities include drafting, producing SolidWorks Models, and preparing detailed documentation.

Applicants must possess a BSME or BSMET degree with relevant design experience, particularly in oilfield production equipment. A strong benefits package is offered, along with an annual salary range of $75k-$90k.

Qualifications

• 3 Years of similar design experience or 5 years of similar design experience.
• A proven ability to prepare piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).
• Experience with skid packages & pressurized equipment/vessels is ideal.

Responsibilities

• Design products from initial concept through production.
• Produce SolidWorks 3D Models and Detail Drawings.
• Prepare Bills of Material (BOM) and Process Flow Diagrams (PFD).
• Assist in the development of company design systems, standards, and procedures.

Skills

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Designer. The Mechanical Designer is responsible for working with Project Managers, Design Engineers, Process Engineers, and Engineering Management to develop accurate and complete equipment designs including 3D models and drawings, as well as parts lists, bill of materials, and other component related information critical to the success of the project. The designer will develop new products and revise existing ones.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Design products from initial concept through production in a professional and time efficient manner
• Produce SolidWorks 3D Models and Detail Drawings in accordance with design and specification requirements
• Create General Arrangement (GA) and shop level fabrication drawings from information provided by Engineering, Project Management, and/or Sales, following company standards and customer specifications
• Prepare Process Flow Diagrams (PFD) and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID)
• Perform drafting check of drawings; update and revise as needed
• Prepare Bills of Material (BOM)
• Support the Manufacturing team by troubleshooting fabrication issues, offering and implementing solutions
• Participate in Design Reviews as required
• Continuously monitor design/drafting progress and report to Project Manager as needed
• Create Dimensional Surveys and prepare “As Built” Drawings
• Assist in the development of company design systems, standards, and procedures
• Contribute development ideas for new and existing products

Required

• BSME or BSMET with 3 Years of similar design experience or 5 years of similar design experience. Design will be from initial concept through fabrication.
• Proficiency with Solidworks design software
• Able to prepare piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs)
• Ability to effectively apply Industry Codes and Standards (ASME Section VIII, Div. 1, ASME B31.3, AWS, API, ASTM, NACE, OSHA, etc.)
• Knowledge of piping and pipe schedules, flanges, fittings, valves and instruments used in oilfield production equipment
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work outside in manufacturing, field processing, and production site atmospheres

Experience working on skid packages & pressurized equipment/vessels would be ideal.

Solidworks experience is a must.
