Job summary

Valeo is seeking an engineer to join our Mechanical Development team in a full-time role. You will execute 3D parametric models, generate 2D drawings, and define overall part design and mechanical concepts in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities include applying Valeo design rules, negotiating tooling feasibility, performing clearance checks, and owning structural/thermal simulations (FEA) with tolerance stacks.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in a technical field is preferred; experience in lieu of education will be considered.
• CATIA design experience preferred, but other design software experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Execute 3D parametric models, modifications, packaging studies, and 2D production drawings.
• Defines overall part design, mechanical concepts, and primary component sizing.
• Apply plastic molding and Valeo design rules (draft angles, wall thickness, parting lines) provided by checklists/guidelines.
• Negotiate tooling feasibility with tooling engineers and suppliers; promotes standardizations.
• Run clearance/interference checks and standard section cuts.
• Own structural/thermal simulations (FEA), worst-case tolerance stacks, and design sign-offs.
• Manage file check-in/check-out, PDM/PLM lifecycle states, and BOM accuracy.
• Validate release readiness, baseline milestones, and customer engineering change requests (ECR).
