Valeo is seeking a Process/Manufacturing Engineer to improve production efficiency and lead industrialization on new projects in a high-speed automotive environment in Reno, NV. You will drive Lean initiatives, design and validate equipment, and collaborate across teams to optimize processes.

You will participate in PFMEA/CONTROL PLAN activities, support technicians, and work with suppliers to implement improvements while upholding safety and environmental standards.

Competenze

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years experience in lean manufacturing practices.
  • Automotive industry experience in a high-speed manufacturing environment.

Mansioni

  • Improve production efficiency (machine & Direct Labor) and lead the industrialization of new P.
  • Capitalize and share know-how of industrial processes in the domain; participate in design of new equipment and lines.
  • Lead Lean design workshops.
  • Monitor and optimize production equipment; participate in PFMEA and CONTROL PLAN.
  • Support production technicians with training, analysis and problem solving; liaise with suppliers for improvements.

What You Will Do

As a Process/Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for improving the production efficiency (machine & Direct Labor) in its perimeter, while leading the industrialization of the new P. You will also capitalize and share the know-how of industrial processes in their domain, while participating on the design of new equipment and new lines. You will also lead Lean design workshops.

Industrialization
  • To manage production equipment introduction using IPROM
  • To follow equipment or assembly lines development with the supplier
  • To design small tool and validate the supplier proposal
  • To define the acceptance criteria for new equipment or line
  • To perform pre acceptance and acceptance of the equipment
  • To perform trials on the lines and deliver reports
  • To build action plans and follow up
  • To perform and/or collect, capabilities of equipment and process
  • To set up equipment and propose PROCESS VALIDATION PLAN
  • To participate on PFMEA and CONTROL PLAN
Mass production
  • To monitor QCDM and propose improvement
  • To survey the performance of equipment, and always in mind, optimization
  • To work on Cycle time reduction to optimize investments, material & labor costs
  • To update routing on Information system with SPV validation
  • To support production technician (training, analysis, problem solving)
  • To be in contact with the suppliers (improvement, support)
  • To participate to SPV workshop
  • To participle to APU QRQC Standardization
  • Validate any change of standard proposed by sites
  • To know, apply and promote the standards (PG, sites or corporate) in his domain
  • To apply the SPV rules
Environment
  • Ensure the respect of Safety and Environment procedures of the Valeo Group
  • Maintain the 5S and report issues
  • Alert for safety rules infringement
What You Should Have
  • You have a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field.
  • You have a minimum of 3 years experience in lean manufacturing practices.
  • You should have automotive industry experience in a high-speed manufacturing environment.
