Job summary

Reader Precision Solutions, Inc. in Elkhorn, WI is seeking a motivated college student to join our team as an Industrial Engineering Intern or Co-op. This internship focuses on mechanical design, prototyping, and manufacturing processes within a precision manufacturing environment.

You will work with Engineering, Production, and other areas to design, troubleshoot, and implement practical solutions. Pay rate is $22.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or related field.
• CAD coursework or experience preferred.
• Basic understanding of mechanical design principles and drawings.
• Familiarity with manufacturing processes, machining, tooling, or mechanical systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with design, development, and implementation of mechanical solutions for manufacturing applications.
• Use CAD to create and modify mechanical designs, models, and drawings.
• Assist with prototype builds and testing to evaluate concepts and solutions.
• Collaborate with manufacturing to troubleshoot production and equipment challenges.
• Develop and refine processes for part handling and movement in production.
• Support mechanical design projects from concept through implementation.
• Identify and implement improvements to equipment, tooling, and processes.
• Evaluate existing equipment and processes and recommend opportunities for improvement.
• Support quality and process improvements to ensure parts meet standards.
• Work with Engineering, Production, Quality, and other departments to develop practical solutions.
• Communicate ideas, findings, and recommendations to team members and stakeholders.
• Participate in engineering and continuous improvement projects across the organization.
• Complete an internship project and present findings to the Engineering team.
