Job summary

Reader Precision Solutions, Inc. in Elkhorn, WI seeks a motivated college student for an Industrial Engineering Intern/Co-op.

You will apply IE concepts in a precision manufacturing environment, focusing on continuous improvement, process efficiency, ergonomics, and operations. Work alongside Engineering and Production to evaluate processes, develop practical solutions, and complete meaningful projects that deliver measurable impact.

Qualifications

Currently pursuing a degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Familiarity with Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and Lean Six Sigma preferred.
Experience or coursework with CAD software preferred.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

Apply Lean Six Sigma concepts to evaluate and improve processes.
Develop and use value stream maps to analyze flow and identify waste.
Design and improve work cells prioritizing efficiency and ergonomics.
Create and update work instructions for consistent operations.
Conduct time studies and analyze processes to drive efficiency.
Collaborate with production and engineering to address manufacturing challenges.
Support CAD-related design efforts for process improvements.
Assist with implementing equipment and process enhancements.
