Job summary

Hargrove Engineers + Constructors in Beaumont, TX is seeking a Mechanical Intern to assist with routine designs of less complex engineering assignments under supervision. You will learn to apply design standards, assist in developing layouts, generate preliminary designs and material take-offs, and produce detail calculations, drawings, and sketches.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with design standards and codes.
• Working knowledge of CAD software.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing conceptual layouts and studies to determine efficient approaches.
• Produce estimate-level preliminary designs and material take-offs.
• Produce detailed design calculations, drawings and sketches for projects.
• Assist engineers in resolving routine layout and detailing problems.
• Adhere to department engineering design and drafting standards.
