Responsibilities

• Completing transformer mechanical drawings based on layouts, practices, or advisories.
• Calculating dimensions and specifications; updating drawings as needed.
• Providing technical support and training to others.
• Assisting in planning and scheduling the design and detailing processes.
• Assisting on development projects and standardization efforts.
• Suggesting new procedures to improve detailing efficiency.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Completing transformer mechanical drawings based on the internal and external layout, standard practices, and/or from technical advisories.
• Calculating dimensions, allowances, and specifications per standard procedures or general design knowledge of shop capabilities when standard procedures do not exist. Verifying and updating drawings.
• Providing technical support and training of others.
• Assisting the supervisor in the planning and scheduling of the design and detailing processes.
• Assisting on development projects as requested by supervisor. This may also include completion of standard processes or practices and computer programs.
• Recommending and developing new procedures to improve the efficiency of the detailing process.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Knowledge of 3D software
• Excellent process and problem solving skills
• An understanding of drafting procedures
• An excellent team player with strong people skills; ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization
• Effective communication skills, including verbal (logical and organized), written, listening and presentation
