Job summary

Veriipro in Sparks, NV seeks a Lead Mechanical Design Engineer to guide the design of advanced automation equipment. You will own the mechanical architecture for complex systems, incorporating robotics, servo motion, and machine vision to meet performance goals.

You will mentor engineers, perform FEA and GD&T-driven validations, and drive drawings, assemblies, and documentation. This role collaborates with manufacturing to ensure robust, reliable machine designs.

Qualifications

• Lead and manage mechanical design engineering activities for custom automation equipment and machinery.
• Design and develop complex mechanical systems involving robotics, servo motion, machine vision, and automated equipment.
• Provide engineering leadership, mentorship, and technical guidance to design teams.
• Perform structural analysis, FEA simulations, and design validations.
• Create and review detailed mechanical drawings, assemblies, and documentation.
• Apply GD&T principles and ensure compliance with ASME Y14.5 drafting standards.
• Collaborate with manufacturing teams on mechanical assembly, testing, and design improvements.
• Manage CAD design processes using SolidWorks, SolidWorks PDM, and AutoCAD.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives for machine design, reliability, and performance.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in custom machine design and automation systems.
• 3+ years of engineering leadership or team management experience.
• Strong experience with FEA and structural analysis.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks, SolidWorks PDM, and AutoCAD.
• Strong knowledge of GD&T and mechanical drafting standards (ASME Y14.5).
• Hands‑on mechanical assembly and troubleshooting experience.
