Job summary

L3Harris Technologies invites applications for a Mechanical Design Engineering Intern role in Canoga Park, CA. You will support both new product development and existing products, working with CAD models and part documentation.

The internship follows a 9/80 schedule, with every other Friday off, and offers a range of benefits. Eligible students are pursuing a bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering at an accredited university.

• Generate or process ECOs as needed.

Job Schedule: 9/80: Employees work 9 out of every 14 days – totaling 80 hours worked, and have every other Friday off

Job Description:

• Provide mechanical engineering support for both new product development activities as well as factory support of existing products
• Work directly with mechanical designers on CAD models and part documentation
• Generate and/or process engineering change orders (ECO’s) as required

Qualifications:

• Must bepursuing abachelor'sdegree, amaster'sdegree, or a PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Engineering Mechanics, Materials ScienceEngineeringorrelatedfieldat an accredited university.

Preferred Skills:

• CAD or analysis (FEA) tools exposure, and/or experience in mechanical design or analysis of electronic systems,structuresand mechanisms
• Must be able to apply the principles of Structural Mechanics to predict internal stresses and structural instabilities
• Familiarity with finite element methods and fatigue
• Familiarity with finite element methods and fatigue and damage tolerance principles

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $25/hr- $47.50/hr This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
