Job summary

L3Harris Technologies is seeking an Intern, Mechanical Engineer in Canoga Park, CA. The role supports both new product development and factory activities, working with CAD models and documentation, and processing ECOs.

The candidate must be pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Mechanical or related engineering fields. Preferred exposure to CAD/FEA and structural mechanics concepts. Salary ranges are disclosed for CA and related regions, with a broad benefits package.

Qualifications

• Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree, a Master’s degree, or a PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Engineering Mechanics, Materials Science Engineering or related field at an accredited university.
• Experience with CAD or analysis tools is a plus.
• Familiarity with structural mechanics and fatigue concepts is beneficial.

Job Schedule: 9/80:Employees work 9 out of every 14 days – totaling 80 hours worked, and have every other Friday off

Job Description:

• Provide mechanical engineering support for both new product development activities as well as factory support of existing products
• Work directly with mechanical designers on CAD models and part documentation
• Generate and/or process engineering change orders (ECO’s) asrequired

Qualifications:

• Must bepursuing aBachelor’sdegree, aMaster’sdegree, or a PhD inMechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Engineering Mechanics, Materials ScienceEngineeringorrelatedfieldat an accredited university.

Preferred Skills:

• CAD or analysis (FEA) tools exposure, and/or experience in mechanical design or analysis of electronic systems,structuresand mechanisms
• Must be able to apply the principles of Structural Mechanics to predict internal stresses and structural instabilities
• Familiarity with finite element methods and fatigue
• Familiarity with finite element methods and fatigue and damage tolerance principles

n compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California,Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington, and the Greater D.C. area, Denver, or NYC areas is $25.50 - $48/hour.
