Job summary

Emerson internship in engineering design and testing invites students to work in both office and lab settings. You will participate in prototype work, testing, and applying sound engineering practices to resolve issues.

Collaboration across teams and with vendors will help drive design improvements and product quality. Full-time, in-person role with emphasis on learning and hands-on experience, including exposure to engineering change processes and test result presentation.

Job description

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
  • Work in both office and lab environments to support product design, testing, and development activities.
  • Design or modify products using engineering judgment, company standards, and knowledge of applications.
  • Assist with prototypes, lab and agency testing, and apply sound engineering practices to resolve technical issues.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, vendors, and customers on technical matters and design reviews.
  • Recommend design and process improvements to enhance quality, reduce costs, and improve manufacturing capabilities.
  • Prepare and present test results, manage engineering changes, and provide ongoing support for existing products.

For This Role, You Will Need:
  • Pursuing a bachelor’s in engineering
  • Zero (0) years of related experience
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States
  • Ability to work full-time (40 hours) per week in-person
Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:
  • Pursuing a bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering
  • GPA of 3.0 or above
  • Prior internship or related work experience
  • Basic understanding of simple mechanical systems
  • Familiarity with use of basic hands and small power tools
