Job summary

Pyramid Consulting, Inc. is currently interviewing for a Mechanical Design Engineer specialized in Creo to design electronic enclosures and modular networking chassis. This 6+ month contract role in San Jose, CA onsite requires 7+ years of mechanical design experience and strong GD&T knowledge.

The engineer will create 3D CAD models, perform tolerance analyses, and collaborate with ECAD/hardware teams and manufacturing partners to ensure mechanical integrity across multiple products.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience designing electronic enclosures.
• BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience with sheet metal, plastic, and die-cast materials.
• Create 3D CAD models using Creo or NX with GD&T.
• Perform 2D tolerance analysis for electro-mechanical assemblies.
• Collaborate with manufacturing teams and suppliers to resolve design issues.
• Exchange PCB IDF files with ECAD teams and address mechanical integrity.
• Host peer and cross-functional design reviews.
• Strong knowledge of GD&T and tolerance analysis.

Job description

Immediate need for a talented Mechanical Design Engineer with Creo. This is a 06+ Months Contract opportunity with long-term potential and is located in San Jose, CA(Onsite).

Pay Range: $45 - $50/hour. Employee benefits include, but are not limited to, health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) plan, and paid sick leave (depending on work location).

Key Requirements and Technology Experience:

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with 7+ years of experience designing electronic enclosures.
• Design and deliver next-generation networking systems (modular and fixed chassis) and cards that meet customer requirements.
• Develop innovative mechanical solutions using sheet metal, plastic, and die-cast materials that comply with EMI, safety, and other standards.
• Create 3D CAD models using Creo or NX and detailed drawings applying GD&T principles.
• Perform 2D tolerance analysis for complex electro-mechanical assemblies.
• Collaborate with manufacturing teams and suppliers to resolve design issues impacting field or production.
• Exchange PCB design IDF files with ECAD/hardware teams and address mechanical integrity concerns.
• Host peer and cross-functional design reviews.
• Proficiency in 3D MCAD tools (Creo/NX).
• Experience with sheet metal design for mid to high volumes, GD&T, and tolerance analysis.
• Strong knowledge of sheet metal, plastic, and die-cast tooling.
