Veridian Tech Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Thermal Systems Team in Hayward, CA.

You will design and release thermal components for automotive applications, focusing on HVAC modules, heat exchangers, ducts and cooling systems, collaborating with CAE, manufacturing, suppliers, and validation teams. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and 3+ years in automotive thermal design, with CATIA V6 proficiency, experience in injection

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• 3+ years of experience in Automotive Thermal Systems Design.
• Experience with HVAC modules, air ducts, heat exchangers, and cooling components.
• Strong knowledge of heat transfer, fluid dynamics and thermal management.
• Experience with injection molded and metal components; DFM/DFA.
• GD&T, tolerance stack‑up analysis and validation support.
• CATIA V6 expert; CAE report interpretation; cross‑functional collaboration.
• Knowledge of DFMEA, DVP&R, APQP, validation & testing processes.
• Experience working with suppliers and global teams; troubleshooting thermal systems.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop thermal systems and components including HVAC modules, air ducts, hoses, heat exchangers, cooling modules.
• Lead product design and development activities from concept through production release.
• Design and develop injection molded plastic components and metal components; material selection and tooling feasibility.
• Perform thermal performance evaluations and support thermal simulations under various conditions.
• Review and interpret CAE reports; collaborate with CAE for design improvements.
• Create and maintain 3D CAD models, 2D drawings, BOMs, and release documentation.
• Support prototype builds, testing, validation, and issue resolution.
• Troubleshoot thermal issues through product development and production.
• Work with suppliers on designs, tooling concepts, manufacturing feasibility, and validation requirements.
• Participate in DFMEA, DVP&R, design reviews, and engineering changes.
• Ensure compliance with automotive standards and quality practices.
