Hitachi Energy Ltd. is seeking a Mechanical Product Design Engineer who will shape the future of distribution transformer technology through innovative design, engineering excellence, and cross‑functional collaboration.

You’ll translate customer specifications into high‑quality designs, work with 2D/3D tools, solve technical challenges, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance performance and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
2+ years of relevant engineering experience.
Proficiency with AutoCAD, Creo, or similar 2D/3D modeling tools.

Responsibilities

Plan, coordinate, and execute engineering design activities.
Create and modify drawings, Bills of Materials, and technical documentation.
Lead and participate in design and customer specification reviews.
Provide timely mechanical engineering support across teams.
Support customer inquiries with clear, technically sound responses.
Contribute to vendor qualification, new component development, and testing.
Conduct analysis, design, and development work using 2D/3D tools for transformer products.
Mentor and guide early‑career engineering colleagues.
Ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
