Job summary

Alamo Group Morbark Division is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to lead design projects for a diverse product line, from chippers to grinders, using hands-on fabrication knowledge. You will collaborate with sales, production, service, and operations to ensure timely, high-quality results.

The role emphasizes design for manufacturability, cost-conscious improvements, and documentation control, with a path to impact across multiple equipment lines and sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred, ideally in Mechanical Engineering; we'll also consider an associate degree and/or relevant work experience in place of formal education.
• 1-3 years of design engineering-related experience, including internship or co-op experience.
• Experience with Solid Edge CAD software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead assigned design and development projects from concept through completion.
• Partner with sales, production, service, and operations teams, providing the technical support they need to meet commitments.
• Support manufacturing by maintaining and updating prints to ensure configuration control of products.
