Kunz is seeking Mechanical Design Engineer I and II to develop modular facilities for hyperscale data center programs. You will integrate product design, production planning, manufacturing, and construction, and travel to sites for validation.
The role emphasizes parametric modeling, process mapping, and cross-functional collaboration with vendors, trade partners, and construction teams. Base salary ranges from $70,000 to $115,000, with performance-based bonus potential.
Kunz provides model-based design, engineering, and construction management services for complex capital programs. Since 2015, we have supported mission-critical facilities and hyperscale data center programs for clients in the United States and internationally.
Our work brings together product design, engineering, production planning, manufacturing, and construction to improve how complex infrastructure is designed and built.
The Mechanical Design Engineer will support the development of modular systems for hyperscale data center programs and the processes used to assemble and deploy them.
This position works across product design, production planning, manufacturing, and construction. The work includes developing parametric facility layouts, analyzing production capacity, evaluating assembly sequences, and creating repeatable production processes.
The Mechanical Design Engineer will work alongside senior engineers and collaborate with product teams, trade partners, vendors, and construction teams. The role also includes time at construction and manufacturing sites to verify assembly methods, refine designs, and incorporate field lessons into future product and process improvements.
Candidates are not expected to have experience in every area listed above. We are interested in individuals with a strong mechanical engineering foundation who want to develop their experience across product design, production planning, and field execution.
Kunz is hiring for both Mechanical Design Engineer I and Mechanical Design Engineer II positions. The level offered will be based on the candidate’s experience and technical background.
The anticipated base salary range for the positions covered by this posting is $70,000 to $115,000 annually. Individual compensation will be based on position level, work location, relevant experience, skills, and internal equity.
Employees may also be eligible for an annual performance-based bonus.
